First of all, I want to state that this is not a sponsored post. I was not paid to write this. I just feel like this is an amazing product and support the idea that everyone should know about it and at least try one out.
Ladies, we know it as a fact of life that beauty supplies (cosmetics, skin care, sun protection, etc.) can be expensive. We are constantly walking the line on determining if the price is worth what you buy. Will it do what it claims? How will my skin react? Do I really need this? And, more often than not, we forgo buying something because of the price tag and settle for a similar product that is much cheaper (both in price and quality) or just go without altogether.
And let me tell you – the best beauty investment I ever made seemed so dubious that it took me years to actually purchase one. I had seen the ‘studies’ on how effectively it cleaned the skin, but I just couldn’t get over the price of what seemed like a glorified, lazy-girl face scrubber. That’s right. I’m talking about the Clarisonic. [This is an affiliate link. Please see my Disclosure Policy.]
For years, I was trying to use the knock-offs. I started with one by Olay, but the bristles were so rough, it made my skin more irritated than was worth using. I trudged over to a coarse face sponge and had similar results. I tried a silicone scrubber when they came out, but found that it didn’t really clean my face nearly as well as I thought it should.
Finally, with my wedding looming in the near distance of a few months and my face a battleground of textures and pimples, my hubby (then-fiancé) bought me my first Clarisonic. It was one of the first models, and it was a lot. I’m not talking price. Well, the price wasn’t small, but I’m talking about the features. It was waterproof with several different modes of use including the normal speed, a high speed, and a built in timer for face and body. This contraption was a beast!
And it completely changed my life.
First of all, the bristles were so soft, they didn’t hurt when I used it to clean my face, yet, it cleaned off all of my makeup. I was actually alarmed the first time I used it because so much gunk came off of my face. Why would this seem alarming? Isn’t that what it’s supposed to do? Well, yeah…but the thing is that I had washed my faced before I even used it! You read that right. I had taken off my makeup and had cleansed my face before I tried out that bad boy, and makeup was still coming off! This proved the deep-cleaning power that it claimed to have.
That’s not even the best part. After using it for a few weeks, my skin was completely changed. No more weird texture. No more acne. No more dull looking skin. This device absolutely changed my skin care game. It wasn’t irritating. It wasn’t too much. My skin loved it! And I wasn’t the only one to notice! Friends and family kept complimenting how nice my skin looked without makeup! Never before had anyone ever told me that because of my pimples and acne scars. After seeing these results, I just knew that I couldn’t have a skin care routine without a Clarisonic.
And then my first-generation Clarisonic kicked the bucket. It was tragic. And I was at a loss. I had fallen in love with the first-gen and hadn’t even touched any of the newer ones. And, sadly, the first-gen was no longer in production. So, I took a leap of faith and bought one of the newer models: the Clarisonic Mia 1. [Affiliate link.] It wasn’t nearly as fancy (but the price was much lower because it was a basic model). And you know what?
I love it even better than the first-generation one!
Is this an investment? Yes. Is it worth the price? Absolutely! Who would I recommend this to? Everyone!
If you have been fighting with acne and texture, but nothing seems like it helps, I highly suggest that you invest in one. And this is coming from the girl who went from taking oral antibiotics for acne to trying everything under the sun with disappointing results! I even tried Proactive!
The only thing that has worked for me and has continued to prove itself is the Clarisonic. [Affiliate link.]
So, give it a try.
Ladybug on, my friends!
